About The Position

This position is designed to prepare high school students for careers in healthcare by bringing teachers with real-world clinical experience into the classroom. An applicable candidate will hold the appropriate licensure or certification aligned with Tennessee's Health Science 612 endorsement requirements.

Requirements

• Postsecondary certificate or diploma related to a healthcare license, registration, or certification Required
• 3 years of relevant clinical experience within the last 5 years or 5 years of relevant clinical experience within the last 10 years or 2 years of relevant clinical experience and a technical school certificate or 1 year of relevant clinical experience within the last 10 years and an Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field or Bachelor's or Master's degree in a healthcare-related field.
• Valid healthcare license or certification issued by a state board of health (TN or other state) aligned to qualifying experience Required or National certification verified by an accredited licensure agency (e.g., ARRT, ACSM, etc.) aligned to qualifying experience Required

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction in health science courses aligned to Tennessee CTE standards.
• Develop lesson plans using lectures, hands-on activities, technology, and clinical simulations.
• Assess student learning through projects, exams, and performance-based evaluations.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student success and career readiness.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and student organizations.
• Support students in exploring healthcare careers and postsecondary pathways.
