About The Position

This position is designed to prepare high school students for careers in healthcare by bringing teachers with real-world clinical experience into the classroom. An applicable candidate will hold the appropriate licensure or certification aligned with Tennessee's Health Science 6–12 endorsement requirements.

Requirements

• Postsecondary certificate or diploma related to a healthcare license, registration, or certification.
• 3 years of relevant clinical experience within the last 5 years or 5 years of relevant clinical experience within the last 10 years or 2 years of relevant clinical experience and a technical school certificate or 1 year of relevant clinical experience within the last 10 years and an Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
• Valid healthcare license or certification issued by a state board of health (TN or other state) aligned to qualifying experience.
• National certification verified by an accredited licensure agency (e.g., ARRT, ACSM, etc.) aligned to qualifying experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction in health science courses aligned to Tennessee CTE standards.
• Develop lesson plans using lectures, hands-on activities, technology, and clinical simulations.
• Assess student learning through projects, exams, and performance-based evaluations.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student success and career readiness.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and student organizations.
• Support students in exploring healthcare careers and postsecondary pathways.
