About The Position

Facilitate the Career Concepts and Experiences labs. These labs introduce middle school students to a wide variety of applied technology subjects in career areas such as science, communication, construction, engineering, graphics, manufacturing, and much more. Establish effective rapport with students to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation.

Requirements

  • Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
  • Instructional technology to implement the 4 C's in a flexible learning environment.
  • Exploring new methods, structures, environments and platforms for learning.
  • Reading and interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
  • Writing general correspondence and speaking effectively with others.
  • Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Principles and practices of program administration.
  • Basic principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
  • Best practices, trends and emerging technologies.
  • Principles and techniques of effective oral presentations.
  • Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
  • Specialized equipment relevant to the area of assignment.
  • Applying reason to research and solving moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
  • Interpreting an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.
  • Performing basic original research to assist with developing teaching plans and instructional materials.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation.
  • Organizing and maintaining records, files and program information.
  • Gathering data, analyzing findings and applying logic and reason.
  • Authoring and preparing original reports, documents and presentations.
  • Researching industry trends, solutions and best practices.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
  • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches district approved curriculum.
  • Instructs students using appropriate technology for exploring career clusters.
  • Facilitates career exploration modules.
  • Develops a culture of student collaboration and problem solving.
  • Partners and communicates with Core Content teachers to integrate content learning objectives and support student successes.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Inventories and maintains supplies necessary for the lab.
  • Evaluates students' academic growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
  • Identifies student needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
  • Facilitates availability with students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Plans and coordinates the work of teacher aides, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
  • Establishes and maintains good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
