About The Position

Under the general supervision of the building principal and designated teacher(s), to assist and support all staff in the education of children. Essential Performance Responsibilities Assists in the supervision of students in the classroom and other areas of the school facility. This may include bus arrival/dismissal, lunch and/or recess, school related activities or field trips during contracted hours, and emergency drills/situations. Assists staff in preparation of materials. This may include reproducing and preparing materials and equipment used in the classroom; correcting papers, workbooks and tests; and creating and preparing materials for bulletin boards. Works with individual or a group of students in the daily routine of the classroom under the teacher’s direction. This may include assisting the teacher with classroom management and/or implementation of behavioral management plan(s); assisting students with homework, tests and/or seatwork; assisting students with technology (audio-visual, computer, adaptive educational equipment); and maintaining records for individual students. Keeps teacher/administrator informed of all relevant student-related matters. Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology. Attends scheduled training sessions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to relate to all children regardless of needs and/or abilities.
  • Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills.
