Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities Collaborates with classroom teacher in performance of teaching functions providing support to students and coteaching. Provides instructional and behavioral management support to students. Works with children in small and large group settings, as well as individually, under the supervision of the Director of Education. Participates in lesson planning process, preparing and/or delivering lessons to students both individually and in small groups. Provides classroom coverage as a substitute teacher as needed, overseeing and leading lessons for various classrooms of 6 to 8 school-aged children with brain injuries or brain-based disabilities in absence of classroom teacher. Communicates with parents, staff and administration, as appropriate. Provides direction, support and supervision to the paraprofessionals in the classroom. Collaborates in the planning and implementation of a supportive and challenging developmentally appropriate program. Collaborates with each student’s iHOPE therapy team as necessary and appropriate, implementing therapy recommendations in the classroom accordingly to support optimal treatment of the student. Participates in setting up, cleaning and maintaining classroom equipment and supplies. May participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, when necessary and appropriate and/or provide information to classroom teacher and/or director regarding students as needed.
