If you are a talented professional with a passion for children and families, please consider applying for the following positions currently open: Title: Teacher, Associate - Infant/Toddler Job Type: Full Time, On-Site Compensation: $20-$21/hr, Plus Robust, Comprehensive Benefits Package FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Primary Duties: Assist in planning, implementing, and facilitating a developmentally appropriate, full-inclusion program for young children.

Requirements

  • 12 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, including core courses or a Child Development Association (CDA) Credential earned in CA.
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain an Associate Teacher Permit according to the CA Permit Matrix.
  • One year of experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
  • At least one year working with children ages 0-3 specifically.
  • Experience diapering and feeding infants/toddlers.
  • Knowledge of child development theory and experience with developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Experience working with children having disabilities and/or special needs.
  • Must be able to regularly talk or hear.
  • Will occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Fingerprint clearance/Department of Justice ID#
  • Current health report including negative TB test
  • Proof of required immunizations per Community Care Licensing for MMR, DTAP, Influenza (or waiver).These items are required before classroom assignment.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorships are available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operation of the classroom including setting up activities, transitions and clean up.
  • Assist to ensure the best practice in anti-bias curriculum, respect the home culture in all communications, functions and curriculum presentations
  • Maintain classroom order based on Pathways discipline philosophy by providing positive discipline approaches, including social problem-solving techniques.
  • Offer an engaging and varied play environment.
  • Sit with children and engage or coach them in activities.
  • Base interactions with children during both play and daily routines on the child's established goals as described by the family and assessments while maintaining sensitivity to the child's immediate interests.
  • Assist teachers with compliance of codes, funding terms and conditions, regulations of all state and local governing agencies: Department of Developmental Services, State Child Care Licensing, California Department of Education, Regional Centers, fire and health departments, and Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
