About The Position

TEACHER ASSISTANT HEAD START POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN NORTHERN BEDFORD MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY SCHEDULE FULL TIME HOURS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR (August - May/June each year) SUMMERS AND HOLIDAYS OFF Our Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Bedford and Fulton counties work in partnership with families to promote self-esteem, build strength, and encourage self-sufficiency and lifelong learning for children and their parents. This position will assist the classroom teacher in implementing program planning, to include individualized activities for each child in the classroom.

Requirements

A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required.
Child Development Associate credential required to complete within two years of hire date at organization's expense (by end of second school year.)
Valid Driver’s license, Act 33, 34/151 and FBI Clearances.

Nice To Haves

An Associate, Bachelor or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or enrolled in Associates degree program in Early Childhood Education or related degree with at least 15 credits in Early Childhood Education or child development preferred

Responsibilities

Assists staff in working with pre-school children.
Assists classroom teachers in reaching program goals.
Assists teachers to maintain accurate records for the classroom as requested such as food data, attendance, etc.
Completes all forms accurately and submits them in a timely manner.
Assists classroom teacher to monitor and maintain inventory and supplies used in the classroom.
Monitors and maintains in good repair materials and equipment used in the classroom.
Provides services to assigned families with children ages three to five years.
Maintains accurate records of classroom experiences, services to children, food data, etc.
