Every day as a Teacher Assistant you will.... Ensure student safety Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives Devereux Center for Autism Research and Education Services (CARES) is an educational program licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that provides services to students, ages 5 to 21, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. CARES provides an environment that focuses on teaching each student based on his or her unique strengths and needs. Programming is focused on increasing independence for each student. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety

Benefits

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week year round position)
  • Compensation: $41,600 - $47, 424 annually (based upon experience)
