About The Position

Seven Hills Pediatric Center is seeking a caring and dependable Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities and provide hands-on assistance to students with developmental disabilities. This role is essential in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for students with complex medical and educational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required
No prior experience required; personal or work-related experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Must be at least 17 years old, actively enrolled in secondary school, and possess a valid working permit
CPR/First Aid required
Academic support and activity planning
Arts and crafts and sensory integration techniques
Use of assistive technology
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Team collaboration and ethical practice
Classroom management and continuous learning mindset

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Assist classroom staff with setup, participation, and cleanup for activities and events
Provide hand-over-hand support to students during classroom tasks
Complete routine classroom documentation under teacher direction
Research and suggest new activities to enhance student engagement
Support wheelchair-bound students in accessing school, residential areas, and the community
Reposition, feed, and provide personal care to students/residents as needed
Maintain a professional and supportive presence in the classroom
Work in harmony with Seven Hills Foundation’s mission and values
