Teacher Assistant, LEAP

About the position

The Paraprofessional - LEAP Program works with the LEAP teacher in the establishment of guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position and will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Christ will be an example to the staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in a supportive, nurturing, respectful, helpful manner.
• Assist the LEAP teacher in the establishment of guidelines and standards.
• Become familiar with appropriate texts and classroom instructional materials.
• Conduct individual and/or small group instructional lessons and/or activities as directed by the LEAP teacher.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Present lessons in a variety of learning modes for different age levels.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Complete work in a neat, accurate, and timely manner.
• Prepare instructional materials and other related materials needed by the RSP teacher.

Requirements

• At least three years of elementary teaching/classroom aide experience, working with students with various needs.
• Preferably Certified or knowledgeable regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
• Agree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith.
• Exude the love of Christ in interactions with others.
• Embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal.
