About The Position

The Teacher Assistant at BCH Child Care Center plays a crucial role in supporting classroom teachers in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 12 weeks to 5 years. This part-time position involves engaging with children, assisting in daily activities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to exchange information on factual matters and greet visitors.
• Courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and hospital employees.

Responsibilities

• Assisting classroom teachers in the care, health, welfare, and safety of children in a group setting.
• Working with a team of teachers to provide a caring environment for children.
• Cleaning and disinfecting toys per DEEC regulations.
• Setting up afternoon activities and learning centers and engaging in play.
• Preparing and serving snacks to children.
• Restocking classroom areas as requested.
• Participating in group, story, and circle time activities.
• Assisting the classroom teacher with closing the classroom each day.
