About The Position

The Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT) plays a critical role in the design and implementation of a citywide EdTech programs and applications which are focused on the following goals: Build a shared DOE ed tech vision to paint a picture of how ed tech looks on its best day; Adopt the ISTE standards, pilot in 6-8 districts to help educators understand the why/when of ed tech; Establish internal recommendation engines for products and streamline procurement policies; Improve instructional and technical capacity in schools as educators navigate the tech landscape; Upgrade our infrastructure and networks for superior and reliable bandwidth/connectivity; Determine school and staff readiness levels for ed tech to better target supports and services; and Define and refine quality digital communication guidelines so schools can better engage families. As part of DIIT, trained BOROUGH LEAD EDTECH TEACHERS will work to build EdTech capacity for key leadership stakeholders, including Executive Superintendents / Superintendents and select borough/citywide office teams, a cohort of school EdTech teams, which include school-based teacher leaders (peer, master, model), and a cohort of borough-wide teacher leaders (peer, master, model, team leader).
