The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm - perfect for caregivers! This position is located in Fitchburg, MA. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Based in Fitchburg, MA, our CARES School is a therapeutic day school that serves individuals age 6 through 21 who carry diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability. You could be a part of an exceptional team of staff who support the needs of students in grades K-12 and beyond as they work towards diplomas and learn vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills. Our students have typically experienced multiple academic failures, most often resulting from a wide variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The help you provide will make a difference in their lives! As a Teacher Aide, you will: Be passionate about working with and helping youth. Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision . Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment. Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same. Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills. Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports. Being a Direct Care Professional has its advantages!
