About The Position

The Teacher Aide at Friendship House of Christian Service plays a crucial role in supporting the Lead Teacher in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Childcare Substitute Teaching Certification
• Teaching Certification
• Experience with children
• Child Development Associate Certification
• Entry level experience with at least 1 year in childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a physically and emotionally safe place for all youth participants, staff, and visitors.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and effective program experience for every participant.
• Operate program using established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare and implement youth development activities.
• Prepare and clean up meals, classrooms, playground, etc.
• Transition children from one activity to another.
• Utilize systems for measuring, tracking, and reporting program effectiveness against program goals and outcomes.
• Meet and maintain all State Child Care licensing requirements and ensure regulations are followed at all times.
• Consistently seek out ways to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
• Be on duty and on site during program hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
