The Adult Ed Instructor position resides in the Department of Adult Education. The mission of BPS Adult Ed is to provide a variety of flexible programs to ensure that Boston residents have access to quality instruction, job training, and college and career advising. BPS Adult Ed annually serves about 800 adult students who want to learn English, participate in vocational training, improve their academic level and/or graduate from high school. The high school classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm. Start times for each 90-minute class are 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00. Teachers will be compensated for receive 30 minutes of prep time per 90 minutes of instruction. Most positions are for two consecutive classes. Assignments vary based on student need.
