About The Position

The Teacher for 6th Grade Math at Nash County Public Schools is responsible for providing direct instruction to students, fostering their academic and social growth, and creating a conducive learning environment. Requirements

• Four year degree from a college or university
• Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
• Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught
• Valid N.C. teaching license/certificate, or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

• Teaches District approved curriculum
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times
• Plans a program of study using various instructional techniques and media
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Takes precautions to protect students and materials
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules
• Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior
• Guides learning towards curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives
• Assists in diagnosing learning disabilities with district specialists
• Evaluates academic and social growth of pupils and prepares progress reports
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy
• Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional hours
