About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel, one of Richmond’s most iconic luxury destinations, is seeking warm, polished, and guest-focused individuals to join our team as a Tea Host and Room Service Attendant. These roles play key parts in creating an elegant and welcoming guest experience—whether serving our renowned Afternoon Tea or delivering exceptional in-room dining service. The Tea Host ensures a gracious arrival and departure experience for Afternoon Tea guests, manages reservations and seating, and helps maintain the refined atmosphere that defines this long-standing Jefferson tradition. Room Service Attendants are responsible for delivering food and beverage service directly to guest rooms, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and warm hospitality throughout each interaction. These positions require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a natural sense of hospitality. Tea Host hours are 1:45 AM – 4:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Room Service hours are AM Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM PM Shift: 2:00 PM – 1:00 AM. Availability required for weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be available for scheduled Tea Service hours and/or Room Service AM or PM shifts, including holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment preferred; strong customer service background required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Gracious and attentive to guest needs, with a refined sense of service appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Prior hosting or hospitality experience preferred; fine dining background a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behavior.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for guests attending Afternoon Tea, ensuring a welcoming and polished experience.
  • Manage reservations, seating, and guest flow in coordination with the Tea and Food & Beverage teams.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure proper setup, presentation, and retrieval of trays and carts.
  • Communicate guest requests clearly with kitchen and service teams.
  • Greet and assist guests with a friendly and elegant demeanor.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, offerings, and hotel services.
  • Monitor guest flow and coordinate with service staff to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure all guest-facing areas remain organized, clean, and guest-ready.
  • Uphold The Jefferson Hotel’s service standards in all guest interactions.
