At NAS Oceana located at Virginia Beach, VA, SA-TECH supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) that covers the development, integration, management and support of an integrated program to enable a continuous, multi-domain, Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training platform across multiple physical training locations. Together with our partners, SA-TECH is helping integrate the Navy Combined Tactical Training Range (NCTTR) and the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) into the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) environment. SA-TECH is currently looking to hire a TDL Engineering Technician IV at NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) to communicate with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions. This position reports to the Oceana Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in tactical data and information links within the past five (5) years
  • Five (5) years of experience in Navy Key Management Infrastructure.
  • Three (3) years of experience with computer/electronic systems operations/maintenance in the following areas:
  • MIDS / JRE / CMN-4
  • Digital/analog signal processing;
  • Video/audio signal processing and recording;
  • Communications (Network/multiplexer equipment, routers, fiber-optic, data encryption equipment);
  • Digital computer systems
  • Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment
  • Formal training in tactical data and information links.
  • Multiple Tactical Data Link experience (Link-11, Link- 16, etc.).
  • Joint Range Extension (JRE) operations experience.
  • NAVEDTRA 43462-2A KMI PQS.
  • Three (3) years of experience in computer systems analysis (hardware/software), computer programming, and LAN support (including server and workstations).
  • Linux Operating System (OS) and network administration experience.
  • Microsoft Windows (OS) and network administration experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ or Network+.
  • Operating System Training (Linux or Windows OS).
  • Must be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 180 days and maintenance-qualified within one (1) year of hiring.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • May be required to be TS/SCI-eligible.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicate with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions.
  • Utilize all functionality of JRE in order to meet specific training event requirements.
  • Through CSMs, coordinate with and train designated range personnel in the daily operation of TDL equipment.
  • Coordinate TDL settings with all training network participants.
  • Support tactical data link design in validated operational requirements to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation.
  • Work with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL baselines.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
