Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (one year of work experience related to the primary duties may substitute for one year of college).
  • One year of work experience in audit, compliance monitoring, or grant management.
  • Auditor certification (e.g., CPA, CFE) may substitute for required work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Work experience in governmental auditing and/or program compliance monitoring.
  • Work experience with CDBG programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct moderately complex auditing and compliance monitoring work for CDBG projects.
  • Review project records for compliance with federal, state, and program requirements.
  • Interpret and apply legal decisions and departmental rulings.
  • Prepare correspondence to inform Grant Recipients of findings and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Provide technical assistance to Grant Recipients and/or their consultants to resolve findings.
  • Assist in updating the TxCDBG Project Implementation Manual and standard operating procedures.
  • Remain apprised of changes and updates to CDBG policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Conduct research to contribute to the division's understanding of federal, state, and program requirements.
  • Follow all TDA policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
