About The Position

The TCK/Family Consultant role focuses on providing support and care to parents and Third Culture Kids (TCKs) as they navigate the challenges of frequent transitions while serving globally. This position involves educational planning and care support for Pioneers' field workers, with responsibilities that include teaching, consulting, and maintaining relationships with families. The consultant will also travel to overseas conferences to strengthen relationships with families and support the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of positive teaching experience with children
  • Completed 3 years or equivalent of field experience
  • Commitment to global missions and overall vision of Pioneers
  • Understanding of the uniqueness of TCKs and the challenges they face
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrated evidence of spiritual maturity
  • Trustworthy and credible
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with, for and among members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial support base
  • Work in connection with regional consultants as determined by supervisor
  • Promote prayer for TCKs among ministry partners, member development team and the Orlando base
  • Collaborate with TCK team including program coordinator
  • Ensure data communications are tracked within established internal system
  • Participate in Orlando TCK programs by teaching safeguarding lessons, interacting with children and meeting individually with each family unit
  • Consult with TCK program coordinator on evaluation, revision and updates to the TCK curriculum for Explore, Launch and Connect
  • Teach adult curriculum related to family/TCK issues at Explore, Launch, Connect, or as determined by supervisor
  • Serve on Explore family interview committees
  • Help prepare the kids' team for field conferences as requested and support the region by teaching safeguarding and TCK lessons to children, meeting with parents individually and attending group sessions
  • Communicate with families in assigned regions on an annual basis
  • Facilitate family and individual TCK debriefing
  • Provide pre-field/on field educational consultations with resources and referrals
  • Maintain relationships with parents to equip them with information, resources and activities that support and encourage TCK resilience.
