Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health physics, physical science, nuclear or environmental engineering, chemistry, radiological science, physics, genetics, or mathematics with one year of relevant experience.
• Master's or Doctoral degree in a related field.
• Current certification as a Certified Health Physicist (CHP) by the American Board of Health Physics.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate complex permit and license applications for waste management.
• Evaluate license applications for storage, processing, and disposal of low-level radioactive waste.
• Conduct field assessments and surveys using radiation detection equipment.
• Provide information concerning authorizations and processes to customers through various communication methods.
• Assist customers with program-related inquiries and public information requests.
