About The Position

The Compliance Assistance Specialist at TCEQ plays a crucial role in helping small businesses and local governments understand and comply with environmental regulations. Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.
• One year of full-time experience in environmental activities may substitute for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Assist small businesses and small local governments in understanding and complying with environmental rules.
• Work on special project teams developing plain-language regulatory guidance documents and tools.
• Collaborate with agency staff and stakeholders to ensure meaningful and consistent work products.
• Conduct outreach on environmental compliance requirements, including preparing materials and conducting workshops.
• Review rules, regulations, and agency guidance, analyzing impacts and providing recommendations for improvements.
