About The Position

Tax Supervisor Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Supervisor to lead our client's tax department’s compliance and planning functions. This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of various tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing strategic guidance to minimize tax liabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of tax laws, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
• CPA certification required.
• 4+ years of experience in tax preparation and supervision, preferably in a public accounting or corporate tax environment.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH, ProSystem fx) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Supervise and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal policies while identifying opportunities for tax savings.
• Monitor and implement changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management and clients accordingly.
• Conduct research on complex tax issues and prepare clear, concise documentation.
• Manage and mentor junior tax staff, providing training, feedback, and performance evaluations.
• Assist in tax planning and consulting for clients and internal stakeholders to support financial goals.
• Coordinate tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., accounting, finance) to streamline tax reporting and improve accuracy.
• Maintain and enforce confidentiality and ethical practices in all tax matters.
