About The Position

As a Tax Prep Specialist, you will interview clients, prepare accurate tax returns, and ensure a seamless experience for each client.

Requirements

• 1–2 seasons of tax preparation experience or equivalent knowledge of federal/state rules.
• PTIN (or eligibility for PTIN).
• Comfortable with tax software and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient attention to detail, communication, and client service skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during peak season.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and occasional small business tax returns accurately and efficiently, reviewing source documents to determine required forms.
• Conduct client interviews, explain outcomes, and provide basic planning guidance while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Ensure compliance and accuracy by staying current on relevant tax rules, verifying data in tax software, and following company policies.
• Maintain organized and secure client files, follow up on missing information, and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with the Office Supervisor and assist with basic marketing touchpoints as needed.
