About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team at Nelson Tax Accounting Ltd. This seasonal position runs from Mid-January through Mid-April, with the potential for sporadic part-time hours afterward. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations and will provide exceptional service to clients while ensuring accurate and timely tax preparation.

Requirements

• 5 years of professional tax preparation experience (Required).
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred.
• Strong customer service skills to build rapport with clients and address their needs effectively.
• Familiarity with professional tax software, with experience in Lacerte being a plus.
• Understanding of tax regulations, ensuring compliance while maximizing client benefits.

Nice To Haves

• EA, CPA or ACAT credential (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
• Provide expert advice on tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with current laws.
• Assist clients in understanding tax liabilities and potential deductions.
