About The Position

Prosperity Partners (“Prosperity”) is a Chicago-headquartered public accounting firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States, we are expanding our team of professionals and are seeking an experienced, driven Tax Partner to join our firm and manage sophisticated client relationships. The successful candidate will be a tax generalist with experience across a broad range of simple to complex business and individual returns, tax minimization strategies, and team leadership. This individual will oversee engagements from start to finish, collaborate with the firm’s Tax Managers, and manage an established roster of clients. Preferred attributes include deep knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, strong research capabilities, expertise in tax planning and consulting, and experience consulting on M&A transactions. Excellent communication skills are essential, as candidates will draft memos and correspond with clients and taxing authorities. The ideal candidate will embrace a leadership role. Given the collaborative nature of our work, this position requires regular in-office presence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience at a mid-tier, regional, or national accounting firm
  • An accounting degree from an accredited four-year university
  • CPA certification required
  • Proven ability to manage client and internal expectations, grow client relationships, and lead staff
  • Proficiency in business development, including meeting and corresponding with prospective new clients, preparing job budgets, and drafting engagement letters
  • Strong understanding of firm operations, including billing, budgeting, and long term goals
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, including exposure to corporate, flow-through, individual, and multi-state taxation
  • Experience working with complex businesses, high net worth individuals, and trust tax filings
  • Ability to identify and cross-sell the firm’s services to existing clients
  • Success in networking with regular contributions to the industry
  • Expertly draft technical memorandum and/or complex government correspondence
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence in presenting to clients and peers
