About The Position

The Retirement Planning Group, a unique community within Cetera Holdings, is seeking a Tax Operations Lead Senior Associate, Tax Practice a proactive and detail-oriented professional who plays a key role in advancing operational initiatives across the tax department. This role supports strategic projects, contributes to process improvement efforts, and collaborates with team leaders to implement solutions that enhance efficiency and consistency. This role requires a high level of autonomy, ownership of complex initiatives, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in day-to-day decision-making.

Requirements

  • Experience in tax operations, process improvement, or team leadership within a CPA or wealth management firm
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a focus on workflow optimization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax workflow platforms
  • Effective communication and leadership skills across teams and departments
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, with leadership or strategic ownership preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned operational initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with department goals
  • Analyze workflows and recommend improvements that support scalability, accuracy, and service consistency
  • Collaborate with managers and team leads to implement process enhancements across tax operations
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal documentation, including SOPs, templates, and training materials
  • Assist in evaluating and optimizing tax technology platforms and operational tools
  • Monitor performance data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that integrate tax operations with other departments
  • Support change management efforts by communicating updates and helping teams adopt new processes
  • Apply discretion and independent judgment in resolving operational challenges and prioritizing tasks
