About The Position

The Tax Manager at ECI Software Solutions is a high-impact role within the Global Tax Team, specifically designed to drive strategic tax initiatives and support the companys aggressive growth through acquisitions. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Tax, this individual will act as a key lead for M&A tax workstreams, international tax planning, and complex tax projects. This role requires a self-starter who can "run" with acquisitions from due diligence through integration, while collaborating closely with Tax Directors and the broader Finance leadership team. This role plays a vital part in the strategic growth of ECI, and as such, additional work during peak acquisition cycles or period-end reporting may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Active CPA license required.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in Big 4 public accounting or a high-growth corporate tax department.
• Proven experience in M&A tax, including due diligence and integration; experience with international tax concepts (Subpart F, GILTI, Transfer Pricing) is highly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently and "run" with high-level assignments under minimal supervision.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to model complex tax scenarios in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts for non-tax stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Self-directed and highly organized, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, acquisition-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax due diligence for domestic and international acquisitions, identifying risks and structuring opportunities to optimize the tax profile of target companies.
• Manage post-acquisition tax integration, including legal entity rationalization, aligning accounting methods, and incorporating new entities into global compliance frameworks.
• Support international tax initiatives, including transfer pricing documentation, cross-border transaction monitoring, and oversight of foreign tax filings.
• Drive high-level tax projects and strategic initiatives such as R&D credit studies, tax attribute modeling, and legal entity restructuring.
• Partner with the VP of Global Tax on legislative analysis and the implementation of strategies to manage the global effective tax rate.
• Collaborate with the Financial Reporting and Accounting teams to ensure accurate tax accounting for complex transactions and business combinations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for external tax advisors and auditors on specialized tax technical matters.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation within the tax function to enhance scalability during rapid organizational growth.
• Mentor junior staff and provide tax technical guidance across the Finance organization.
