About The Position

The Tax Manager plays a key role in leading the company’s U.S. income tax function, overseeing compliance, provision, and reporting activities in collaboration with external service providers. This position ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all tax deliverables while aligning closely with financial reporting requirements. As an internal subject matter expert, the Tax Manager maintains ownership of tax positions, provides strategic insight on complex tax matters, and supports high-impact initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions and tax planning strategies. This is a senior-level, individual contributor role offering significant visibility and the opportunity to influence business decisions across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA certification is required
  • 6+ years of relevant tax experience, including public accounting and/or corporate tax
  • Strong Experience with tax compliance in a complex multi-entity environment
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of international tax concepts (e.g., Pillar Two, GILTI)
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 and income tax accounting principles
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and SOX compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail a must
  • Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business scenarios
  • Proficiency in tax and financial systems (e.g., OneSource (OIT and OTP), Deltek Vantagepoint, Adaptive)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot, modeling, data analysis, reconciliation)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection, preparation, validation, and delivery of financial and tax data required by external providers, including apportionment data, entity information, and supporting computations.
  • Lead and manage U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance, including review of externally prepared tax returns, coordination of supporting workpapers, and maintenance of audit-ready documentation.
  • Oversee estimated tax payments, extensions, and filings prepared by external providers, ensuring deadlines are met and tax positions align with financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and support quarterly and annual income tax provision deliverables prepared by third-party providers, including: Tax account reconciliations, Effective tax rate (ETR) adjustments, Current and deferred taxes, Uncertain tax positions, Return-to-provision calculations
  • Maintain ownership of ASC 740 conclusions, assumptions, and disclosures, ensuring alignment with SEC reporting and audit requirements in collaboration with the VP, Corporate Tax.
  • Provide tax support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, including post-transaction integration.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations (e.g., OBBBA, TCJA, Pillar Two, State Modifications) and assess impacts to the company’s tax profile, provision, and disclosures in partnership with external advisors.
  • Manage relationships with external tax service providers (Big 4 or national firms) for U.S. federal, state and local, and international tax compliance and accounting.
  • Support modeling and scenario analysis related to tax law changes and strategic initiatives; review outputs for reasonableness and business impact.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure tax considerations are reflected in business decisions and financial reporting.
  • Maintain tax technology tools and data processes supporting outsourced compliance and provision work, emphasizing data integrity and efficiency.
  • Support SOX-compliant tax controls, including documentation, review procedures, and coordination with external providers.
  • Assist with tax notices, audits, and inquiries; coordinate responses with external advisors.
  • Provide cross-functional support to indirect tax, international tax, and M&A activities as needed.
  • Manage tax calendars and departmental administrative processes.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
