About The Position

Vero Fiber Networks Holdings is a fast-growing digital infrastructure and telecommunications holding company providing high-quality retail broadband connectivity and wholesale digital infrastructure services across the United States through Vero-owned subsidiaries. As we continue to expand our network and customer base, we’re building a strong internal finance team to support sustainable growth, efficiency, and compliance. We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Tax Manager who can own and elevate our tax function — from compliance to strategic planning — in a dynamic fast-growing environment. The Tax Manager will be the company’s in-house tax lead, responsible for all aspects of U.S. tax compliance, reporting, and planning at VFN Holdings, INC and subsidiaries. This role is ideal for a generalist who thrives on variety — managing corporate and indirect taxes, optimizing processes, and partnering with business and finance leaders to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 6–10 years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting and/or in-house roles.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. corporate and state income tax tax, with experience in sales/use tax, payroll and telecom-specific taxes preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-tax stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a mid-sized fast-growing company where collaboration, ownership, and adaptability are key.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all federal, state, and local tax compliance obligations, including corporate income, franchise, sales/use, property, payroll and telecom-related taxes.
  • Coordinate with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax planning, mitigation and deferral strategies to minimize liabilities and support business growth.
  • Ensure proper payroll tax processing for stock-based compensation.
  • Monitor and interpret tax law changes and assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Support regulatory and telecom-specific tax reporting (e.g., USF, E-911, gross receipts, and similar state telecom assessments).
  • Partner with subsidiary accounting and finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, compliance and audits.
  • Identify and execute process improvements, ensuring strong internal controls over tax processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and state agencies.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, bonus, and benefits package.
  • Hybrid work flexibility and a supportive, team-oriented culture.
  • A highly visible role reporting directly to finance leadership, with influence on strategic and operational decisions.
  • The opportunity to build and shape the in-house tax function of a growing U.S. telecom provider.
  • Eligible for annual bonus and meaningful stock-based compensation.
  • Paid Life Insurance, medical plans, PTO, holidays.
  • Dental and vision options.
  • 401(k) with match.
