About The Position

Essential Functions and Primary Duties Manage and facilitate the preparation and review of various tax filings, such as consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and financial statement disclosures. Prepare and review income tax provisions under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, for SEC reporting engagements. Coordinate with the client's internal functional teams and other external service providers to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance processes. Act as a strategic advisor to the client's tax department, identifying tax-saving opportunities and providing guidance on the tax implications of business decisions. Manage, train, and mentor junior tax staff on client engagements, providing constructive feedback and fostering a positive team environment. Plan, set deadlines, and monitor the completion of tax projects, ensuring deliverables meet quality control standards and are delivered on time and on budget. Understand the client's internal tax processes and help co-develop improvements to enhance efficiency. Build and retain strong relationships with multiple clients, ensuring satisfaction and recognizing opportunities to expand service offerings. Research and analyze complex corporate tax issues, drafting clear memoranda that support compliance, planning, and advisory recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's in Taxation, Accounting, or Law) or specialty designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in income tax accounting standards, with practical application of ASC 740 in complex engagements.
  • Proven experience managing public company financial statement audits and collaborating with audit teams.
  • Proficiency with leading tax compliance and provision software, such as CCH Axcess Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude, commitment to excellence, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance.
  • Solid foundation in income tax accounting principles, including deferred taxes and effective tax rate concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities
