About The Position

As our Senior Tax Reviewer, you will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our tax engagements. You will manage and prioritize workflow, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the tax team. We are looking for someone with robust technical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a passion for developing people and building client relationships.

Requirements

  • Active CPA or EA license.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting with a focus on tax review.
  • Proven ability to manage complex tax workflows and meet deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current tax law and compliance requirements.
  • Experience mentoring and training staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with client business development and new client onboarding.
  • Prior experience working with a variety of client types, including high-net-worth individuals and small-to-midsize businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Review & Workflow Management: Oversee the review of complex tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Utilize strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities, resolve workflow bottlenecks, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Client Advisory & Relationship Management: Act as a strategic advisor to clients by understanding their unique needs and providing insightful tax planning and compliance guidance. Engage directly with clients for consultations, delivering clear, empathetic communication in every interaction.
  • Leadership & Staff Development: Mentor and train staff at all levels, sharing your technical expertise and fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment. Provide timely, constructive feedback to help team members grow both technically and professionally.
  • Technical Proficiency & Continuous Learning: Stay current on federal and state tax regulations, tax software, and best practices to ensure our firm’s services remain accurate and competitive. Share insights and updates with the team through regular training and informal guidance.
  • Problem-Solving & Process Improvement: Anticipate and proactively resolve challenges, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices to enhance our tax department’s performance.
