About The Position

Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Tax Manager in our Corporate office located in St. Louis, MO. The Tax Manager is a key role in the Tax Department. This individual will be responsible for tax compliance, planning and reporting activities as well as being involved in tax planning and analysis. This role is ideal for a motivated and experienced tax professional with knowledge of federal, state and international compliance as well as accounting for income taxes. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a fast-paced, growing company with exposure to upper management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 4–8+ years of progressive tax experience, including corporate tax compliance and reporting (multinational corporate environment or public accounting preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Qualified applicants will be St. Louis, MO based and able to work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of two days a week in the office.
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax (or similar corporate income tax software).
  • Working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance and the domestic tax implications of international operations.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with appropriate supervision and attention to detail.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including the Tax Director and CFO.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or Master’s degree in taxation.
  • Experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms and tools.
  • A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, including extensions and quarterly estimates.
  • Prepare the worldwide annual income tax provision, including deferred tax analyses and effective tax rate calculations.
  • Identify, recommend, and support implementation of tax planning strategies.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the organization.
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries from taxing authorities, including gathering documentation and preparing responses.
  • Assess tax implications of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other business units to support transactions and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including international accounting and local finance) to assess income tax impacts related to international operations.
  • Demonstrate accountability for deliverables by meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
