About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned tax manager or a senior manager to join our core business tax team. This practice focuses on closely held family groups and their individual owners, emphasizing client relationships. The company's tax and audit teams work seamlessly across the country, with no Return-to-Office (RTO) mandate. However, there is a preference for this position to be situated locally in the Portland or Seattle market, and candidates willing to relocate to Portland will receive assistance. Full-time managers have a target of 1,375 charge hours and senior managers have a target of 1,350 charge hours (2,300 total hours annually) to provide structure without burnout. During peak season, logging at least 50 charge hours per week is expected, with collaboration and mutual support to meet deadlines. Requirements

  • Active CPA License
  • 5-7+ years of recent experience in public accounting that includes 2 in a manager/senior manager capacity
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Experience reviewing (not just preparing) business tax returns (primarily forms 1120, 1120S; some 1065 & 1040); provisions; consolidated returns; multi-state returns; ASC 740
  • Experience with Partnership basis adjustments
  • Due diligence experience on both buy/sell sides of M&A activity
  • Well-versed in taxable/nontaxable transactions of reorganizations and mergers, corporate issues of 382/383, E&P, and liquidating distributions
  • Excellent communication skills including a proven ability to give and receive positive and constructive feedback
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to solve problems (critical thinker)
  • Collaborative approach to getting work done, shares knowledge, and seeks knowledge of others as appropriate
  • Embraces new/changing technology
  • Adept at using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and tax software (preferably CCH Axcess & Engagement)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with foreign reporting experience (Form 5471, 5472, FBAR, 8865, 1042)
