As part of a rapidly growing global organization, the in-house global tax department leads all corporate tax affairs for the Company. This involves consistent cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, fintech / digital payments environment. As a Tax Intern, you’ll help the Company’s internal tax department drive its global tax initiatives over the summer. You’ll gain exposure across both indirect and income tax, supporting both compliance and process improvement. This is a 10 week internship program that runs from May 27th, 2026 to August 7th, 2026. Candidates considered for this position will be based in San Francisco, CA with the expectation to go into the office three days per week.

  • Assist with data gathering, preparing filings, reconciling indirect tax liabilities, and working with outsourced compliance as needed.
  • Help prepare tax estimates, support preparation of corporate tax returns under supervision, and contribute to income tax provision modelling.
  • Track deadlines for direct and indirect taxes, ensure required filings and deliverables are ready, monitor due dates.
  • Research rules around US & foreign income tax nexus, VAT/GST, sales & use tax, and other areas issues to support compliance or strategy.
  • Help with SOX documentation, maintaining schedules, assembling materials that support tax accounting policies and operative procedures.
  • Assist with automation or process improvement in tax accounting & compliance tasks; helping enhance standard operating procedures.
  • Work with stakeholders in accounting, finance, legal or operations to understand the business inputs to tax calculations.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related discipline.
  • Coursework or some experience in tax, accounting, or related fields; understanding of accounting for income tax (provision) is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with indirect taxes (sales/use, VAT/GST) or interest in learning these.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and shifting priorities.
  • Analytical mindset; comfortable working with data; good with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets). Experience with ERP systems or NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact well with multiple teams.
  • Self-starter attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
