About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Intern at UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office. The Tax Intern will gain hands-on experience and exposure to treasury operations within a dynamic organization. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in Finance. What you’ll learn and achieve: As the Tax Intern you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: Assist with the preparation and review of not‑for‑profit tax filings, including Forms 990, 990T, 926, 8865 and 5471. Support tax research on issues related to exempt‑organization compliance, IRS regulations, state charitable registrations, and unrelated business income (UBI). Help compile, organize, and analyze financial data for tax reporting purposes. Participate in review meetings to gain exposure to variance analysis, expenditure monitoring, and financial controls relevant to tax requirements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (finance, legal, programs, development) to gather information required for tax filings and compliance processes. Perform ad hoc tax analyses and support special projects as assigned. Other Treasury duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Tax, Finance Economics, or a related field.
  • Available to work full-time during the internship period.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in taxation or nonprofit accounting is a plus.
