JOB SUMMARY- Tax Director The Tax Director is responsible for leading the organizations overall tax function, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role provides strategic direction on tax planning, oversees the preparation and review of tax filings, and advises executive leadership on tax-related matters. The Tax Director stays current on evolving tax legislation and develops proactive strategies to minimize risk and optimize the companys tax position.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with close attention to details.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax legislation.
  • Accurate math and accounting skills.
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and taxation software.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and find solutions to problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business or related field required.
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience as a tax manager, public accountant or similar role required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of all federal and state tax returns.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive tax strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provides leadership in identifying tax risks and opportunities and implements appropriate solutions.
  • Directs responses and documentation for income tax audits and other regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitors, interprets, and communicates developments in tax legislation and their impact on the business.
  • Reviews complex tax returns and filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Advises senior leadership on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and structures.
  • Leads and manages multiple tax-related projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Establishes and maintains internal controls and processes for tax compliance and reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
