For more information, please visit www.wealthenhancement.com. The Tax Consultant plays a key role in delivering integrated tax planning and advisory services to clients of Wealth Enhancement Group. This individual works closely with financial advisors, portfolio managers, and clients to develop tax-efficient strategies that align with overall financial goals. The Tax Consultant also ensures compliance with current tax laws and contributes to the firm’s thought leadership in tax-related matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably in a wealth management or advisory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of individual, trust, and small business taxation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial planning tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and small business owners.
  • Analyze client financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend strategies such as tax-loss harvesting, charitable giving, and entity structuring.
  • Collaborate with advisors to integrate tax strategies into comprehensive financial plans.
  • Review and interpret federal, state, and local tax regulations relevant to client situations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Assist clients with estimated tax payments, IRS correspondence, and audit support as needed.
  • Serve as the in-house tax resource for advisors and investment professionals.
  • Participate in client meetings to explain tax implications of investment and planning decisions.
  • Contribute to internal training and development on tax-related topics.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and assess their impact on client strategies.
  • Develop and maintain tax planning tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Contribute to white papers, newsletters, and client education materials on tax topics.
