About The Position

This is a Tax Auditor III position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process, Refunds Unit. The incumbent conducts independent refund audits of one or more taxes and performs or assists with more complex audits of business entities for the various Florida taxes administered by the Department. This position is responsible for coordinating work as well as processing, examining, analyzing, or interpreting accounting records or investigative financial information for the purposes of giving advice or preparing statements or reports for the Refund sub-process for various taxes administered by the Department of Revenue to ensure correct processing of refund claims. This position is also responsible for training auditors, including on-the-job training and assisting in training sessions.

Requirements

Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
Four years of accounting or auditing experience at a paraprofessional level.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing sales and use tax audits within the General Tax Administration Program.
Experience working within the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
Experience with researching Florida statutes and administrative codes.
Experience providing written and verbal customer service.
