About The Position

Sands Anderson, a full-service, mid-sized law firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, is expanding our tax practice. Our firm specializes in Local Government representation, Business representation and Litigation Defense. With 80+ attorneys in 6 offices throughout Virginia and North Carolina, we are seeking a Tax Attorney to join our highly ranked legal team and provide expert advice and representation on tax-related matters. The Tax Attorney will be responsible for analyzing tax laws, preparing legal documents, representing clients in tax disputes, and offering strategic tax planning guidance. Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in Virginia or North Carolina
Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing tax law
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations

Responsibilities

Conducting legal research on tax issues and interpreting tax laws
Advising clients on tax implications and strategies
Preparing and reviewing tax-related documents such as tax returns, agreements, and filings
Representing clients in tax audits, negotiations, and litigation
Developing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability
