About The Position

The Tax Associate will spend a majority of time working with ultra-high net worth individuals and families and all the related planning, projects and compliance requirements that may arise. This will include the preparation of tax returns and all related work papers in accordance with Bessemer Trust Tax Department standards. In addition, the individual will be involved in overseeing the filing of all tax forms and related disbursements with tax authorities, tracking the status of assignments and assisting in and becoming involved in the research of pertinent tax issues. This individual is expected to present the senior team members with a complete, timely and accurate client deliverable in an efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in tax preparation
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Familiarity with tax software programs and BNA Income Tax Planner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with the team in both a remote and in-office work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Meticulous attention to detail. Must be thorough and accurate
  • High integrity and strong work ethic
  • Must be a team player and willing to work extra hours when necessary
  • Flexible, reliable and willing to take initiative
  • Open to feedback and eager to learn
  • Bachelors’ degree required

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, MBA, MST, CFP, JD or PFS beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Tax return preparation: Prepare moderate to complex Individual and Gift tax returns and to a limited extent prepare entity tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers and extension forms
  • Assist with consulting projects, as needed
  • Stay current on latest tax law changes
  • Leverage continuing education opportunities
  • Familiarity with private equity and hedge fund K-1s
