Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
- Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting
- Proficiency in tax preparation software
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and tax laws
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or areas of concern
- Collaborate with senior staff members on complex tax issues and provide support in tax planning strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, including documentation of tax positions and supporting schedules
- Participate in client meetings to gather necessary information and explain tax-related matters
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations through ongoing professional development and training
- Assist in the preparation of audit support documentation and respond to IRS inquiries or notices
- Assist in the review of tax returns prepared by other team members to ensure quality and accuracy
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed
