About The Position

The Tax Associate position at our established accounting firm involves preparing tax returns for a diverse clientele, conducting research on tax issues, and contributing to special tax projects. This role is designed for individuals eager to build client relationships and advance their knowledge in the field of public accounting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Experience in tax and/or audit accounting preferred.
• Valid Certified Public Accountant license or work toward obtaining CPA license preferred.
• Knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner with clients and employees.
• Appropriate interpersonal skills to develop good rapport with employees and clients.
• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and tax-related software.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients.
• Performs tax preparation at client's offices during audits.
• Conducts research on tax issues as they arise.
• Handles special tax projects for clients as needed.
• Updates asset depreciation schedules for clients on a monthly to quarterly basis.
• Assists others with general software troubleshooting issues and depreciation software.
• Performs other accounting and tax-related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
