Position will work out of Livonia Office or can be remote. Provide compliance support for tax-related activities and projects for Trinity Health and its affiliates. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in behaviors, practices and decisions. Responsible for preparing federal, state and city tax forms, including income tax, excise tax, sales and use tax and other tax returns for Trinity Health and affiliates. Provides research assistance to other Tax Personnel on various tax matters, including payroll, compensation and fringe benefit issues as well as income and excise tax issues. Maintains a Trinity Health tax calendar of tax return due dates for federal, state and local compliance, including due dates for extensions and payment dates for quarterly estimated tax payments. Assists Tax Director and local Ministry contacts in the implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to tax compliance matters. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have a working knowledge of accounting principles normally obtained through a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) to two (2) years of work experience in tax compliance preferred. Some experience with preparation of IRS Forms 990, 990T and 1120 preferred. Strong computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn appropriate systems and applications necessary to support operational activities, services and research projects. Strong conceptual and analytical skills. General research and problem-solving abilities. Very good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, assignments and changing priorities. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
