About The Position

Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its Charlotte, NC office. This full-time position provides support to our Corporate Tax team. The Tax Analyst performs a variety of duties to provide corporate tax expertise (federal and state) to clients of the firm. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Works with other team members calculating annual fixed asset expenses, includes: reconciling reports with trial balances, discussions with client regarding purchases, preparing annual reports for client’s review. Assists in calculating monthly use tax accruals for clients. Prepares responses and documents for tax audits. Researches federal and state tax issues. Discusses tax issues/resolutions/planning opportunities with other team members. Reviews documents relating to potential client acquisitions, expansions, etc. Reviews and prepares tax credit documentation. Prepares filing packages for state tax incentive refunds. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Position may require more than 40 hours per week to accomplish essential duties. Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this interactive position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • One to three years of experience in a public accounting tax department or comparable industry.
  • Ability to perform some daily and overnight travel.
  • The work is primarily sedentary.
  • It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant License preferred.
