We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Tax Advisor within our Tax Department group based in Tulsa, OK.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance, with a preference in Accounting.
  • CPA candidate
  • Minimum 3-5 years income tax related and/or public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws, with strong working knowledge of ASC 740 preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement mechanics.
  • Experience with U.S. Federal tax provisions and compliance.
  • Experience preparing tax footnote and related disclosures for Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to cross train within the tax department.
  • Flexible to overtime
  • Strong computer skills (SAP, CorpTax, Excel, Word)

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Taxation or equivalent degree
  • CPA
  • Prior energy income tax experience

Responsibilities

  • Interact regularly with Company accounting and financial reporting personnel to obtain a working knowledge of oil and gas transactions, from both accounting and operating perspectives.
  • Analyze data to calculate tax impacts from both a tax provision and tax compliance perspective.
  • Participate in the preparation of the quarterly tax provision including analysis of tax accounts and reserves.
  • Prepare and communicate the components of the effective tax rate movements period over period.
  • Stay current on new guidance issued by the FASB related to ASC 740.
  • Assist in the preparation of the tax footnote within the quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K, including the tax rate reconciliation and deferred inventory.
  • Perform tax research as needed.
  • Assist with gathering data needed to address IRS and external auditor inquiries.
  • Address tax accounting related inquiries from various stakeholders both inside and outside of the Company.
  • Identify, calculate and track uncertain tax positions.
  • Identify ways to improve and streamline processes.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
