About The Position
Neptune Retail Solutions, headquartered in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our team. This full-time position is primarily focused on income tax compliance, where the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing state and local income tax returns for both a partnership and a C-Corp. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the preparation of federal income tax returns. The Tax Accountant will also handle various tax-related duties that support the daily operations of our tax functions. We are looking for a competitive candidate who is a tax professional with solid experience in income tax compliance, is energetic, intellectually curious, and dedicated to advancing their career in the income tax profession. In this role, the Tax Accountant will work under the supervision of the tax manager, preparing state and local income tax returns and assisting in the preparation of federal income tax returns for a partnership and a C-Corp consolidation group. The candidate will be responsible for preparing or assisting in the preparation of calculations, workpapers, roll-forward schedules, and necessary documentation. Furthermore, the role includes processing tax payments for quarterly estimates and extensions, along with other duties and projects as assigned by management. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is deadline-driven and capable of adapting to change while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of income tax compliance experience as a preparer. Experience with state and local income tax is preferred. A self-starter with strong analytical skills and adequate accounting knowledge is essential. Familiarity with CorpTax software is also preferred. The position requires the candidate to be available to work onsite in Jersey City 1-2 days per week, reflecting our commitment to a collaborative work environment.
