About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant with 1–3 years of experience to join our team. This role focuses on preparing individual and business returns as well as supporting clients with tax notices and audits. You should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing direct communication with clients.

Requirements

1–3 years of tax preparation experience
Experience with notices and multi-state returns required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Enrolled Agent (EA)
Familiarity with CCH tax software preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state tax returns including 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S
Prepare multi-state tax returns for individuals and businesses
Handle IRS and state tax notices, including drafting responses and managing follow-up
Assist with IRS and state audits, including collecting documentation and preparing responses
Communicate directly with clients to gather information and answer tax-related questions
Maintain accurate workpapers and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws
Utilize tax software and research tools to resolve issues
