Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex tax concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Experience meeting strict deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly with Excel and Word (features include: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Multiple Worksheets, Tables, Templates, etc.)
  • Experience leading cross functional projects and drive process improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Current CPA license or CPA eligible
  • Masters Degree in Tax or Accounting
  • Experience with AI, Alteryx, Power Query, Tableau and/or digital transformation tools
  • Recent experience in Big Four or large public accounting firm
  • State and federal audit experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document innovative activities eligible for the R&D tax credit, unlocking significant financial benefits for the company.
  • Drive financial insights by preparing various R&D tax credit schedules for quarterly close, tax returns, and long-range plans, including variance analysis.
  • Lead R&D tax credit federal and state audits for the Aeronautics business unit.
  • Support Sarbanes Oxley internal controls processes.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, ensuring the tax function remains a strategic partner to the business.
  • Participate in digital transformation initiatives that leverage technology to streamline tax processes, improve data management, and enhance the overall tax function.
