Requirements

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience or 1 year public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience for Tax Accountant.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting or corporate tax department accounting experience for Senior Tax Accountant.
  • CPA or CPA-candidate preferred.
  • Strong understanding of concepts regarding tax laws and tax accounting practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of tax research methods with ability to interpret tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP software.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and training to others.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time well.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated active listening skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree counts as one year of experience.
  • Preferred disciplines include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review assigned federal, state, and/or local tax returns and tax payments in compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Prepare assigned tax accruals in accordance with applicable financial or regulatory reporting requirements and associated controls.
  • Prepare information for financial statements and regulatory filings for management review.
  • Prepare annual budgets and track drivers for actual to budget variances, as assigned.
  • Assist with drafting responses for internal and external audits of financial statements, regulatory filings, internal controls, and tax returns.
  • Research basic tax, accounting, or business issues related to assigned entities or projects and prepare tax memorandum or other communications as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects, as assigned.
  • Review work of other tax personnel.
